HEL has considerable experience in the collation, interpretation and presentation of existing ecological data. We are able to review existing datasets, extract records relevant to your needs and highlight where further survey work is required. Data outputs vary according to the client's specification, but usually comprise of an interactive spreadsheet of results, accompanied by distribution maps (produced using specialist GIS software).
Review and audit of existing datasets forms an intrinsic part of our EcIA process, but can also be carried out at the site selection phase, highlighting any existing ecological constraints that may affect your proposed development. This process allows early decisions to be made regarding the suitability of a site and can prove extremely cost effective in the long term. |
