Mark Bates, HND, AIEEM

Mark has over 20 years experience in ecology (NCC, JNCC, SNH and consultancy), specialising in Appropriate Assessment and EcIA of development projects (e.g. forestry, rail, road, renewable, urban and industrial). Experienced in ecological survey and mitigation.

Simon Green, BSc, MSc, MIEEM

Simon has over fifteen years of professional ecological experience in the statutory, charitable and private sectors. He has a broad spectrum of ecological knowledge specialising in habitat surveys, assessment and EcIA.

David Dowse, BLE

David Dowse has been with HEL for four years and heads the protected mammal team.  David has extensive experience in ecological survey, assessment and mitigation, especially in respect of protected mammal species.

Scott Knowles, BSc, MSc, MIEEM

Scott is a senior ecologist with 8 years experience in independent consultancy. He has a broad range of ecological skills, including survey, ecological clerk of works and EcIA.

Pete Etheridge, BSc, AIEEM

Pete has been working with HEL since May 2008.  As a Consultant Ecologist, Pete specialises in bird surveys.  He is also experienced in project management, other ecological surveys, conservation management and ecological impact assessment.

Simon Inger, BSc, MIEEM

Simon has been with HEL for five years and works as a herptile and protected mammal specialist.  Simon has extensive experience in ecological survey, assessment and mitigation.

Derek Whitton

Derek is an ornithological specialist with over 14 years ornithological survey experience.  Derek has a specialist interest in raptors and is an active member of the Scottish Raptor Study Groups.

Jenny Wilson, BSc 

Jenny has been employed by HEL since March 2008.  She specialises in protected mammal work with an active interest in bats and is currently working toward gaining a Scottish Natural Heritage bat licence.  Jenny also has experience in ecological survey, assessment and mitigation.
